Don’t under estimate how much very young children understand. They know a lot more than adults give them credit.
Next time you find yourself saying something like “oh he’s very shy” or “I don’t think she will join in, she’s behaving really bad today” please don’t say that in front of them. Why? because parents are their child’s first and most important teacher, so what you say is what they believe to be true! Whilst you are having that chat to another adult and you think your child is playing quietly, don’t be fooled …..ears are listening and hearing all you say and acting on it, good and bad.
so next time….make sure it’s something positive they hear you say
